Job Description
The technical sales engineer combines technical knowledge with sales skills. Will be responsible for providing solid solutions that contribute to the efficient and effective (temporary) foundation solutions meeting our customers needs. Will have to liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as research, development, design, purchasing, production, and quality, as well as senior company managers. To work in line with the sales team targets and objectives, provide information of the prevailing market conditions and provide sales reports as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Well connected to all our potential customers in order to inform the management on all new in coming foundation works.
- Travelling to visit potential customers, getting involved in an early stage of new projects, establishing reports and advising customers on potential solutions.
- Understand customer needs and be able to provide design assistance to the customers with infrastructure, construction and piling companies.
- Negotiating tenders and contract terms to meet both client and company needs.
- Calculating clients offers/quotations.
- Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions with customers and suppliers.
- Project follow-up, ensure a proper project management with all parties involved in the project.
- Developing and growing long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Strengthening existing customer relationships & developing new potential ones.
- Aggressively increase market share and closely monitor upcoming projects in the Eastern regions of India.
- Marketing analysis: to monitor & evaluate the local competitors and follow the market evolutions.
- Technical promotion: be able to assimilate the technical promotion of our products and to offer it with our customers as per their requirements.
- Offering after-sales support services and solving client problems.
- To achieve yearly sales objective in the product range of steel sheet piles, foundation pipes, combined walls, piling pipes, tie rods, sections for foundation projects.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for checking on status of payments and liaising with accounts team as well as keep the Management updated on an on-going basis.
- Responsible for updating the sales database, preparing sales reports as required by the Management.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering).
- Holding a MBA would be an added advantage
- Experience in designing and estimation would be an added advantage
- Specification/Sales Experience of 1-3 years
- Good contacts with structural consultants / design engineers / Geotechnical consultants / Piling Contractors.
- Good contacts with big construction companies / contractors / government agencies
- Computer skills: excel, power point is a must, design program, planning program is a plus.
- Solid technical background, especially in steel products for foundation works. (Sheet and tubular piles)
- Sound judgment and good business acumen.
- Ability to build relationships with clients quickly.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
